Called to be an artist!

I’ve been jumping coasts all my life. Alexandria, Virginia, is my home, and the Mid-Atlantic region is the center of my design world. My art, home, and personal style lean classic, not fussy, timeless yet simple.

My background includes a BFA in fine painting and graphic design, extensive experience in professional brand design, custom stationery, invitations, boutique retail, and the fine arts.

My art is inspired by the “land + sea” (these are the strongest influences in my work), decorative design, and whimsical subjects. Each mixed-media creation incorporates environmental sustainability and is layered and assembled with subtle imperfections, stitching, texture, and pattern. Establishing visual complexity and curiosity. You might say I am “painting with fabric.” Each original painting is with watercolor, gouache, or metallic shimmer. My color palette can dazzle and shine or be delicate and moody.

The inspiration behind “Golden Lines and Silver Linings” is words and themes to live by, and to see the bright side of a situation or set of circumstances. Golden Lines and Silver Linings reflect the fact that the title of the art is as special as the paint strokes, markings, and assembly of the art.

Life has its ups and downs, its joys and sorrows. I am embracing all of it. Let’s take this journey together. Our life is a work in progress and a work of art.
