I want to be an “arranger”. Like music - there is the need for harmony, structure, orchestration. One needs to have good knowledge of instruments, understanding of the traditional composition and the willingness to experiment. Floral masterpieces combine the design principles of proportion, scale, harmony, rhythm, balance, unity and “awe”. Perhaps the goal is to become an “artistic arranger”; elaborating with confidence an original idea or possibly simplifying an aesthetic or artistic movement in a new and fascinating way.
I’m starting to feel a little more self-assured with my own composing, arranging and experimentation; hopefully that means one day I’ll have a masterpiece or two to share with you.
